Maintenance massage
Maintenance massage is a regular massage regardless if you are feeling any pain or discomfort on that particular day - it can be used simply as a bit of a ‘tune up’. A maintenance massage can be booked as regularly as every two weeks up to every two to three months. It all depends on you and your individual needs. The most popular time frame for most of my maintenance massage clients is every 4 to 6 weeks.
The aim of a maintenance massage is to check what is happening with your muscles and to work out niggles that may be building up before they start to cause any major problems that could affect you on a daily basis. It also gives me a chance to check any historical issues and to keep on top of them and make sure that they are not creeping back in.
Maintenance massages benefit everyone, not just people who exercise or train regularly for a sport. This can include office workers, those who have stressful or physical jobs or those with young children. For people who play sports, including maintenance massages into your training routine can help to loosen muscles that have been overworked and identify any problems that may be building up before they start to affect your physical performance
Pre-event massage
A pre-event massage can help any athlete to achieve their optimal performance and can also help to reduce the chances of suffering an injury during a sporting event.
A pre-event massage lasts approximately 10mins. The aim is to increase blood flow to achieve better flexibility and a better range of motion through muscles and joints.
Post-event massage
A post event massage is a slower treatment. Its aim is to relax the athlete both physically and mentally. It allows me to identify and focus on any issues and muscle groups that may have been overworked during the event.
It helps to flush out waste and lactic acid that have built up in the muscles during the event and helps to move oxygen around the body to increase blood circulation. All of this will help to reduce recovery time, help restore usual range of motion to muscles and joints, and relieve any cramps and spasms.

Dry cupping
Dry cupping works very well when included with sports and deep tissue massage. The lifting effect from the cups works alongside the downward pressure of the manual massage and provides great results. Dry cupping can be used to treat muscle pain and tension, reduced joint movement, headaches, back pain and sciatica as well as stress and anxiety.

Hot stone massage
A hot stones sports massage can be very beneficial for people who have muscular pain, poor circulation and rheumatic and/or arthritic conditions.
A hot stones sports massage is just as effective as a regular sports massage, but hot stones can increase the relaxation effect. This can aid a better release of tension within the muscles which can then help to relieve chronic pain, reduce stress and promote deep relaxation and healing.

Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping was developed by Dr Kenzo Kase in the late 1970's. He is a Japanese chiropractor who wanted to develop a tape that provided support but didn't limit movement the way that traditional tapes did.
Kinesiology tape when applied strategically will provide support, reduce pain and swelling, aid lymphatic drainage and blood circulation, promote healing, support and stabilise joints and improve performance.
K-Tape is easily applied and moulded around the body. It is waterproof so can be worn for 3-5 days.
